Final Piece:
- QUESTION 1In what does your media
product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Camera Work:
Props and Costume:
Setting:
Story:
To conclude:
Young adults and teenagers are presented in my film piece. This may be positive for the film because that audience would watch it therefore possibly making the film successful.
- QUESTION 3What
kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
My Research shows the different age groups that will watch crime genres.
This shows that 6-18 year olds would not normally watch crime genres as they might find it boring. And from my audience research it shows that 19-25 year olds are likely to watch the crime genre supporting that teenagers/young adults would watch our film opening.
- QUESTION 5How did you attract/address your audience?
I think that from the title alone we have attracted our audience, this is because they will relate it to a court room which will involve crime, and if our audience is interested in crime genres, then they will watch our film. Here we also see how the title sequence shows two people, and the audience would want to know who they are to which is why they would watch our film.
![]() |
| Here we see the Villain putting on gloves. This would appeal to the audience becuase they can relate to it, them getting ready to go out, but not to steal anything. |
![]() |
| This scene would appeal to the audience because they would want to know what happens next and to see what will happen to the villain after they have heard his story. |
My unique selling point is that our film focuses more on the villain rather than the hero. This will make our film interesting for our target market because it would be a new experience for them, to watch form the villain’s point of view. We made sure that the villain had more screen time so it would be appealing to our audience because of how not normal it is too see this in other mainstream films.
- QUESTION 6
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of
constructing the product?

I have made a IMOVIE video but i have had problems uploading the video so i hope to have it up next week.
Blogger: Blogger allowed me to use different forms of media and put them onto my own personalised Blog. It allows you to embed different programs and tools into its HTML code to which then it will appear on your blog. This was very useful in the research and production tabs as it allowed me to present the information in a more interesting way.
Youtube and other forms of media sharing website: These allowed me look at different types of films and clips and use them for different parts of my research. Also i can upload to YouTube and then share them to my blog which is very quick and easy.
Tascam DR-05 Portable recorder: I used this recording tool to record one of the actors voices to go over the film. It was easy to use once you got the hand of it, also how to put the media file onto IMovie which is a good skill to know.
Prezi: It is a different presentation techniques that allowed you to zoom into different places and read information and other forms of media on there. This was helpful because I could fit lots of information onto a small space and it allowed it to look presentable.
FreeSound: I used FreeSound to find copyright free music to which I then used in my movie piece.
FireWorks: I have used this to create the production company logos. I did this because it was easy and fast to make a GIF to which I put at the start of the film.
- QUESTION 7 Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have
learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
We have learnt not to make as many mistakes as we did
before, for example, to get all the right camera angles so we could fit
everything into the screen, also this time we made sure that the lighting was
right for the scene so our audience could see all the detail we have put in.
Also we have used more shot types to make the piece more effective. In the preliminary
task we used the 180 degree rule which we didn’t really have to use in our
final piece, although we did use a match on action shot in our preliminary task
to which we used in our actual film opening, which I think went well. In the
preliminary task we did not use a range of shots that we should of, this is
maybe because of the time schedule also how my knowledge of camera shots has
risen whilst creating the actual piece. We used a variety of camera shots like
close up when the Villain is picking up different objects, a medium shot when
he is being investigated and a long shot when we see the villain walking up to
the house. Also we made some errors in the preliminary task like how some shots
did not link up to others. We made sure we didn't do that in the final piece by
making sure every shot fit together correctly and moved fluently.
