Title:
Main Ideas:
The main plot is still in progress and we still need to create the script but overall, the plot is focusing on the villain of the movie and we hear him doing a voice over the video to tell the audience what he is going to do to achieve these crimes and do them successfully. We are going to do some tests of the voice of the villain to hopefully create the right sound so that he sounds like a real villain, so that he sounds tough in the way he speaks, for example the words he uses to describe objects and people. We also agreed on having a second character who would be the investigator in the interrogation room.
We did have some rejected ideas and Adventure film opening in the style of The Hobbit, but we turned that down due to how hard it would of been to reproduce a fantasy look in such a small production team. We also had the idea of creating a biography film opening with a voice over. We also rejected that idea because we were stuck on ideas on who to do the film about and that we needed a more non specific character in the film, more than one person, e.g a worker, a policeman, a villain etc..

We then went on to create a story board for our opening of our film. We tried to capture all the shots and enough information so that we could go back to it at any time and refer to it, also this story board wont be exactly the same as our final piece because we might change aspects of it if we need to.
Actors:
We have chosen 2 possible actors to be in our film opening, Jack Blurton and Freddie Handcock. We have chosen them because we think that they will be able to act the part and look the part in the opening as well.

Props and Costume:
We haven't decided on a full costume yet but we have chosen what the interrogator will wear, a long grey smart blazer with buttons. Also we have not came to a full conclusion on the villains costume but we do know it is going to be a dirty smart style look.

We used lots of household props because they were easy to get hold off and suited the piece we were trying to create. We wanted a light that made the scene look scary and tense because there is only going to be that one light in the scene.

Locations:
We haven't yet decided on the location of the shoot, but it will be in a urban environment.
(Edit) - We have decided to shoot our film in a more of a outskirts environment because we think it will be easier to film here because we could set up more of a scene with the location around us. As it gives us more of a council estate look and this is stereotypical in the crime genre.
Audience Research:
UPDATE: We changed our questionnaire so we could get more accurate results for the graphs below. ![]() |

Title Sequence:
We are going to look at different sorts of title sequences so we can get an idea of how to set up our title sequence.
As we can see (going from left to right), the order in which the people that are involved in the film are in a particular order. Firstly we see the directors names come up first followed by more major roles in the production of the film. We see 'Screenplay' by Michael Bacall with a background image of someone committing illegal activities, which settles you in to the actual film setting. Next is another director, the director of photograph, with a background image of broken watch. This shows that it will be about violence and things of personal possession getting destroyed. The next two shots are objects in the background with the actors names. There are bullets and a rainbow in the background of these, this is to maybe show that there is going to be action and also good things due to the rainbow, Next we see who directed the music in front of lots of big machines. After we see two people grasping each others hands, this will show that they are friends, and this is typical in a crime genre. Then we see a car driving around, and this shows that it is typical for cars to be in the crime genre. Finally there is a picture of someone who looks like Jesus.
The font in the opening credits are all upper case, this is to maybe show that it is a crime genre which everything is stereotypically serious. Although in this movie there is a slight bit of humour in it.
We also see that the typography is all white, this is to make the type stand out from the background.
Director name > Screenplay > Director of Photography > Main Actor Names > Music Producer.
Risk Assessment:
Prop weapons - We are going to use lots of tools e.g. hammers, screwdrivers and nails. These can be deemed dangerous if used incorrectly.
Time - We need to be careful if we film at night, and try and record when it is light enough to be declared safe.
Roads - Take care when recording near roads.
Location - Difficult to film if the nightlife is active in the area, if we want to film at night.
Shooting Schedule:
We will start filming after or just before the February half term (Friday 13th and onwards). This is so we have time to arrange locations and a meet up of the actors as well. Also this will give us time to film if someone is ill or cant make it, so we are able to be flexible around these people. We will also try and make sure that we film on the same day so we wont have any tricky situations where the lighting or sound is different in different shots.
We will also be filming off our storyboards and hoping that we do it in order, although it is fine if we don't get all the shots in as we may change it on the day.
We will gather our props from each others houses, whilst still making sure that we are safe with them.
We will also have breaks with food. :)
Finally we will probably film on a sunny day so we can get as much natural lighting as we can so we can actually see the actors in the film.
Will be doing an animatic on the story board with some audience feedback on it.
